5月30日下午，上海對外經貿大學第八屆英語經貿論壇在圖文信息樓526成功舉辦。本次活動由國際商務外語學院主辦，大學英語教學部和學院團委聯合承辦。上海對外經貿大學副校長徐永林、教務處副處長王磊、國際商務外語學院院長溫建平、副院長單建國、教研室主任邵嚴毅、吳明會、學院團委書記羅文秀出席了本次論壇。論壇評委由程珊老師、黃春老師以及外教Justin Scott、Cherry Zhang擔任。
徐永林副校長在論壇開幕式上致辭，他指出英語經貿論壇是我校學子展現英語綜合應用能力、研究思辨能力和商務實踐能力的一個重要平臺。本屆論壇的主題不僅緊扣時代主題，而且契合了我校“著力培養服務國家戰略需要的全球經濟治理人才”的理念。最后，徐校長希望同學們的研究成果能夠成為今后創新創業項目的起點，同學們在服務國家和社會進步中能夠成長成才，把自己打造成為具有開闊全球視野、扎實語言基礎、良好跨文化溝通能力的國際化人才，并預祝英語經貿論壇圓滿成功。
本次論壇主題為“新形勢下中國經貿發展的挑戰與機遇”，共有52組選手參賽。此次論壇首次邀請我校非英語專業研究生參加，共有13支隊伍進入到論壇決賽。選手們運用專業知識探索新形勢下中國經貿發展的諸多挑戰和機遇，以出色的英語能力和自信的風采匯報自己的研究成果，展現出了良好的英語能力、思辨能力和綜合素養。
在賽后總結點評環節，外教評委Justin Scott代表所有評委對論壇選手們所展現出的研究能力予以了積極的肯定，并給予他們一些中肯的反饋，鼓勵他們再接再厲。董瑋和王春巖老師等為獲獎選手頒獎。
論壇最終評出場內特等獎一組，一等獎三組，二等獎四組，三等獎五組；場外一等獎十組，二等獎十組，三等獎十組，優秀獎九組。
